1. Who processes the data

MakerCalc is the trade name of a service operated from Chile. For questions and requests about your data, write to ….

MakerCalc is the controller of the data used to manage accounts and operate its service. For the data of customers and collaborators that a workshop adds on its own behalf, the workshop decides how it is used and MakerCalc processes it following the workshop's instructions.

2. Data and sources

We may process the following categories, depending on the features used:

  • Account: email, name, profile, preferences and authentication data. If you sign in with Google, we receive the profile data you authorize for that sign-in.
  • Workshop: members, roles, invitations, settings and data you include in resources, costs or notes.
  • Quotes: customer data, orders, notes and documents the workshop generates or shares.
  • Printers: linked devices, status and job history, times, consumption and file names.
  • Subscriptions: identifiers and status of customers, purchases and plans received from Paddle. Paddle handles payment data under its own privacy policy.
  • Support and security: questions you send us, session identifiers, approximate country, technical connection data, errors and audit logs.

The information comes from you, from your workshop's users, from connected devices and from the authentication and payment providers involved in the features used.

The public calculator stores its catalogs in your browser. If you choose to move them to your account, they become part of the workshop's data.

3. Purposes and legal basis

We use the data to manage your account, provide the workshop features, generate quotes, show printer information, manage subscriptions and answer your questions. Without the data a feature needs, we cannot provide it.

Security data is used to prevent unauthorized access and abuse, investigate incidents and protect users. We also keep the information needed to meet legal obligations and handle claims.

Promotional messages rely on your choice. You can withdraw your authorization without losing access to the service. Promotional messages include an unsubscribe link; necessary notices about your account or subscription are not advertising. Browser technologies are explained in the cookie policy.

In Chile, processing is carried out with your express authorization or another legal basis. Where the GDPR applies, the necessary features are based on the performance of the contract; compliance with legal duties, on the corresponding obligation; security, on the legitimate interest in protecting the service and its users, unless your rights prevail; and promotional communications, on your consent. Third-party data provided by a workshop is processed on its behalf, under the legal basis that applies to that workshop.

4. Recipients and transfers

Workshop members can view its data according to their permissions. Anyone with a shared quote link can access the document and keep or forward a copy.

We use providers to deliver the features of the service:

  • Hetzner: server hosting.
  • Supabase: database and authentication.
  • Cloudflare: network and site protection, and anti-abuse checks.
  • Paddle: sales, payments and subscription management.
  • Resend: sending your account and service emails.

Google is involved if you choose to sign in with your Google account. Google and Paddle decide on their own processing under their respective privacy policies: Google's privacy policy and Paddle's.

The service may process data outside your country. Transfers that require legal safeguards must have them; you can ask about the recipients and the applicable safeguards through the contact in section 1. Providers acting on behalf of MakerCalc must follow its instructions and confidentiality obligations. We may disclose data to authorities when there is a legal obligation to do so.

5. Retention

We keep data according to its purpose:

  • Account and workshop: as long as needed to provide the service, with the closure exceptions described in section 7.
  • Workshops over their plan after a cancellation or downgrade: anything over the limit is locked and, if the workshop is still over six months later, it is deleted entirely with its documents and files.
  • Administrative audit: 365 days.
  • Printer history: according to the features and limits of the purchased plan.
  • Information needed for legal obligations or claims: for the applicable legal period, or until the claim and its liability periods end.

Backups may keep data until they are replaced or deleted according to their retention cycle. Copies of documents saved by their recipients are outside our control. The duration of browser storage is described in the cookie policy.

6. Your rights and how to exercise them

You can request access to your data, rectification, deletion or blocking and, where the law recognizes them, objection, restriction and portability. You can withdraw your consent without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing based on it.

Write to …, stating what you are requesting and your relationship with the service. We may ask for a proportionate identity check. We will handle the request within the applicable legal time limit and procedure.

If the workshop is the controller of the data, we will help it handle your request. Sharing records or having a free plan does not take away your rights. You can complain to the data protection authority or the competent courts under the applicable law.

7. Closure and deletion

You can close your account from its settings or ask for help through the contact above. Account data that no longer has to be kept will be deleted. Shared records of other workshops may remain for their activity, while respecting your rights over personal data.

Closing the account cancels the Paddle subscription and stops future renewals, as set out in the terms and conditions. Resources locked by the plan do not prevent you from exercising your rights over personal data.

8. Security and updates

We apply access controls and technical measures to protect the data. No system offers absolute security.

We will identify updates by their date and communicate material changes. If a new use of data requires your consent, we will ask for it beforehand.
